Some concerns I have:
1. It blocks a small portion of the radiator air intake.
2. It grips the plastic air intake louver and creates a cantilever load on it.
3. You’d better not lose the keys that come with it.
I decided to use the factory license plate holder in conjunction with a front bumper protective film. So I don’t stick the license holder directly to the bumper. So I returned this item.

Finally got a ticket for not having a front license plate, so I got this half expecting to return it. We’ve just had it on for a few days but early experience is positive: all metallic and the mechanical joints/ mechanism have minimal play so the only movement the license plate has is due to the slight flexibility of the car’s grill that it mounts to. (I’m more concerned about durability of the car’s grill with added loads.) The only minor quality issue: the instructions indicate that the nuts used to secure the plate are nylon lock nuts but they are just free running nuts. However a second set of fasteners was provided (maybe in lieu of this?) so I used the extra nuts as jam nuts keep the screws vibrating loose. Plenty of thread length for this. Also the front key lock is a bit exposed to the elements so possibly this will be a concern with freeze-thaw cycles in the winter, so TBD on this. Maybe I’ll try to cover up the key slot. It’s still early, but at least initially one of the best-designed and executed auto products I’ve seen in years … a great value.
